Dear friend,
Last month we shared a glimpse of what life inside the Family Navigation Center looks like — families gathering for game nights, sharing meals, and building a sense of belonging together.
THIS is what community looks like.
This month, we saw that same spirit of community reflected in the people who walk alongside our families every day.
We are proud to recognize Mililani aka Lani as Family Promise of Las Vegas’s Employee of the Month — a distinction made even more meaningful because it came directly from nominations submitted by the families we serve.

Clients consistently described Mililani as compassionate, patient, and deeply committed to helping others. One family shared that she supported them during one of the hardest seasons of their lives, always treating them with understanding and encouragement. Others highlighted her responsiveness, positive attitude, and willingness to step in wherever needed.
One client shared:
“Lani helped me and my family when we were at our lowest. She was placed here by God to help others, and she does that with the biggest heart. Even when she’s tired, she always has a smile. Without her, my family would not be where we are today.”
Another wrote:
“She did everything to help me as a single mother get ahead in life. I now have my own car and apartment thanks to Ms. Lani.”
Mililani exemplifies what Family Promise is all about — meeting families where they are, walking alongside them through challenges, and helping them move toward stability and hope.
And we see the results of that community every day.
Recently, we celebrated an incredible milestone with one of the families who completed our 90-Day Housing Program. To protect her privacy, we’ll call her “Ms. Rebecca”
Ms. Rebecca is a devoted single mother of three who came to Family Promise during a difficult season in her life. Despite facing serious personal health challenges, she remained committed to building a stable future for her children. Within the first 60 days of the program, she secured full-time employment and completed both our Good Tenancy and Financial Literacy classes.
Last week, she reached a major milestone — moving into permanent housing with her family.

During our Grand Opening and tours of the Family Navigation Center, visitors are invited to decorate small keychains with encouraging messages for the families staying here. We put them on the FPLV house. Before moving into her new home, Ms. Rebecca chose one of those keychains to take with her — a small reminder that she is not alone and that an entire community has been cheering her on.
Her story is one of resilience, determination, and hope.
Moments like this remind us why community matters so much.
Because this is what community looks like: people showing up for one another, walking together through difficult seasons, and celebrating when families move from crisis to stability.
Yesterday we hosted a Job Fair at the Family Navigation Center, bringing together local employers, workforce partners, and job seekers from across the community. We had a great turnout! Thank you especially to Siegel Group, Hope Christian Health Center, EmployNV, EmployNV Youth, Renewal by Andersen, Staff Zone, Sage Truck Driving School, Grand Canyon University, Hope for Prisoners, Dress for Success, Pinkbox Doughnuts, Latino Beats 99.3 FM, and La Tremenda 103.5 FM.
We are already planning the next Job Fair — and it will be even bigger and better. We even have a brand new sponsor…. stay tuned!

In December, we were honored when the Family Navigation Center received the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Nevada Placemaking Award for a Catalytic Place—recognizing projects that spark positive community impact and help strengthen neighborhoods.
This month, the Family Navigation Center received another major recognition from the real estate and development community.
Family Promise of Las Vegas was awarded Special Recognition at the NAIOP Southern Nevada Spotlight Awards, one of the region’s most respected events honoring excellence in commercial real estate development. While the Special Use category award was presented to the City of Las Vegas, the judges were so impressed by the impact and design of the Family Navigation Center that they created a Special Recognition distinction for the project.
This recognition highlights how the Family Navigation Center is not only changing lives for families experiencing homelessness, but also serving as a model for how thoughtful design and community collaboration can create spaces that strengthen an entire community.

Over the past 29 years, we have promised to love, care for, and serve thousands of families with minor children who are on the verge of homelessness or experiencing homelessness. We have kept that promise by becoming more than just a place to find shelter and safety. From January 1st, 2025, to December 31, 2025, Family Promise of Las Vegas served 206 families (643 individuals) through the Bridge to Home program, providing well over 17,000 nights of shelter for families going through an emergency. Additionally, we served 105 families (323 individuals) through Prevention and Stabilization Services for families who were about to be evicted. Our employment services team helped 94 individuals find jobs. As a result of comprehensive case management, resource navigation, and family-centered support—and 13,657 recorded services—89% of families transitioned into stable, independent housing!
