Dear friend,

Recently, one of the 45 people living at our Family Navigation Center shared how difficult it was to explain life here. She was trying to reassure her friends and family that this isn’t a shelter and it’s not merely a program. It’s a shared community space where families feel safe, included, and supported—not only in meeting their basic needs, but in rebuilding confidence, belonging, and hope. When families have stability, connection, and purpose, they are better positioned to move forward toward independence.

Earlier this month, that community was on full display. Families gathered for a simple game night—pizza, salad, cookies, music, laughter, cheering, and kids being kids. The following week, we hosted a self-care event with manicures and chair massages from Devine Limited Spa—an afternoon that was rejuvenating, uplifting, and truly enjoyed by all who attended.

THIS is what community living looks like: eating together, playing together, and creating a sense of home.

We see this same impact across our programs. One single mom who had fallen behind on rent after losing her job was able to stay housed through Prevention & Stabilization support—giving her the breathing room she needed to secure employment and regain stability. Her Family Advocate (Case Manager) served as coach, advocate, cheerleader, and accountability partner throughout the process.

Another parent, while staying in Motel Shelter, overcame medical and employment barriers and was rehired by a former employer—stepping into a fresh start for her family. These moments are not isolated; they are made possible through intentional support and a caring community.
